Location: Espirito Santo to Guanabara, the species grows terrestrially or on rocks, rarely epiphytically, in dry areas on windy slopes
Remarks: very robust, light-growing species, is only rarely found in some of the few remaining natural areas along the coast between the states of Rio de Janeiro and Parani.
