etymology:
reichenbachii = Heinrich Gustav Reichenbach (*1824 - †1889) was a German botanist who specialized in orchids. HG Reichenbach studied orchids at the age of 18 and assisted his father in writing. In 1863 he became professor of botany and director of the Botanical Garden in Hamburg. Throughout his life he was in direct competition with John Lindley.

Lycaste reichenbachiacna grows terrestrially in moist mountain forests at altitudes of around 1600 metres
Remarks:
Large, waxy flowers with an apple scent, flower stalks about 20cm long and upright. Lycaste locusta must be kept significantly drier in winter.
