Location:
On the Pacific side of the Andes in the humid tropical forest, no exact information available. The type plant was found near the Rio Morona at a height of about 200m.
Remarks:
Unlike anthuriums or other aroids, Ulearum forms an underground rhizome from which a new leaf grows every 3-8 cm.
Ulearum donburnsii 'Green Zafire' has green, slightly shimmering foliage.
