etymology: lynamii = The species was named in honor of Ralph Lynam of Davie, Florida, who lived to be 95 years old. Ralph Lynam, born in 1910, has long been an avid plant lover, collecting and cultivating many interesting and beautiful species of Araceae.

Origin: Peru
Location: Philodendron lynamii grows horizontally terrestrially in warm, humid primary forest on steep slopes at altitudes of 200 - 500 m.
Remarks: Philodendron lynamii is very popular because the young leaves grow with red undersides and only turn green later when they mature.
