Location:
epiphytic on densely mossy branches on the eastern slope of the Cordillera Oriental de los Andes above Macas and reportedly in Peru, Dept. Amazonas, at altitudes of 800 to 1200 meters
Remarks:
Epidendrum ivan-portillae is difficult to distinguish from Epidendrum porpax in terms of growth. The plant is somewhat larger, the leaves are somewhat more pointed. The flowers are lighter, greener in color, much larger and more star-shaped.
