Anthurium debilipeltatum

Surname: Anthurium debilipeltatum, Croat 2008
Synonyms:
not known
etymology:
debilipeltatum: debilis = weak, frail, peltatus = shield-shaped
The blunt to rounded leaf bases, which extend slightly beyond the petiole, make the leaf blade appear slightly shield-shaped (hence the epithet ''debilipeltatum'').
Reproduction: Division
Origin: Peru
Habitat: The species grows lithophytically in the rugged limestone cliffs near Tingo Marı'a, at altitudes of 650 to 800 m in the premontane tropical forest.
Remarks: Anthurium debilipeltatum was discovered in 1971 by Jose Schunke-Vigo (*1935 - †1978), but it was not described until 2009 by Tom Croat based on material he discovered by chance on a collecting trip to Peru. Anthurium debilipeltatum is one of the small species in the Araceae family.
