etymology:
clowesii = Reverend John Clowes (1777-1846), the second son and later heir of Samuel Clowes of Broughton Hall near Manchester.

Remarks:
Anguloa clowesii usually produces 2, rarely more terminal, large, pleasantly scented single flowers per pseudobulb, which have a waxy texture and last a long time. The descriptions of the scent are very variable: like chocolate, mint, coconut and citrus fruits.
