Synonyms: not known
etymology: heterocraspedon, hetero = different, craspedon = edge or border. The petioles are deeply incised, with one edge being very pointed and the other bluntly rounded.

Origin: Colombia
Location: Mostly hemiepiphytic, rarely terrestrial, in tropical rainforest and in transition to premontane montane forest, at altitudes of 50 to 270 m. Philodendron heterocraspedon has been collected in areas of reforestation, primary forest and steep forested roadsides.
Remarks:
Short internodes and narrow, long leaves with a distinct herringbone pattern are characteristic of this species.
