Surname: Philodendron sharoniae, Croatia 2016
Synonyms: not known
etymology: sharoniae = The species is named in honor of Sharon Christoph Davidson who, along with her husband Chris Davidson, has been a field companion and a great supporter of my work with the Araceae. Sharon and Chris are both outstanding photographers, excellent collectors and wonderful field companions. It is always fun to be in the field with them. It is an honor to name this exquisite new species in their honor. (Tom Croat pers. comm.)

Origin: Colombia, Ecuador
Location: epiphytic, from sea level to 2300m, in humid tropical forest to wet mountain forest.
Remarks:
Philodendron sharoniae was discovered on 9 August 2004 by Thomas B. Croat & Genevieve Ferry in Ecuador. The species has inverted pear-shaped leaves, which are more or less narrowed at the middle lobe, depending on the location.
