etymology:
houtteana = Louis Benoît van Houtte (1810 - 1876) was a Belgian botanist, plant collector and tree nursery owner. With Charles Morren he published the monthly magazine L'Horticulteur Belge, the first magazine to deal with Belgian horticulture. In addition to numerous collecting trips, he later ran a seed and flower shop in Brussels, where he also sold flower bulbs and garden tools

Remarks:
Dracula houtteana is a very narrow-leaved, compact-growing Dracula, which, when well cultivated, can produce many 5 x 5cm large individual flowers on slightly hanging flower stalks. The plant loves high humidity, otherwise the leaf tips quickly turn brown and later black.
