etymology:
henschenii = Salomon Eberhard Henschen (February 28, 1847 - December 16, 1930) was a Swedish physician, professor and neurologist. From 1867 to 1869 Henschen worked in Brazil, where he lived with the Swedish physician and botanist Anders Fredrik Regnell and conducted botanical research in Caldas from 1867 to 1869.

Remarks:
Medium-sized, compact Epidendrum that presents up to 5 flowers of approx. 3cm in size on overhanging panicles. The old, leafless stem always flowers, the new shoots do not flower.
