Synonyms: Two varieties are described:

Anthurium ssp. brentberlinii, Croat
Anthurium ssp. superbum, Madison
etymology: superbus = proud, splendid
Reproduction: Division
Origin: Peru, Ecuador, Colombia
Location: terrestrial in semi-shady places in Colombia, no further precise information. Another location in Ecuador describes the location: epiphytic, high in the trees along the Rio Napo.
Remarks:
Anthurium superbum is one of the bird's nest anthuriums and has very firm, leathery foliage. Its charm lies in the irregular veining with very clear leaf veins, which are reminiscent of a braid.
