Location: Chocó, east of San José Palmar, less than 1000 m.
Remarks: The species was found in 1988 on a collecting trip with Tom Croat, the description was made years later when Tom Croat received a plant from Rick Cirino's culture. The valid publication of the description took place 22 years after the discovery of the plant in the German journal 'Willdenowia-Mitteilungen aus dem Botanischen Garten und Museum Berlin-Dahlem'.

Soooo schön und groß

Die Anthurium cirinoi 'Velvet' kam sehr sorgsam verpackt bei mir an. Ich war von der Größe der Pflanze absolut begeistert. Das größte Blatt hatte ein paar mechanische Schäden, aber nichts dramatisches und da die Pflanze im Laufe ihres Lebens noch viele neue Blätter produzieren wird, vollkommen ok. Ansonsten ist sie gesund und kräftig und macht mich mehr als Happy
