etymology: pseudoverrucosum: pseudo = seems, looks like, verrucosum = with warts. In this case: looks like Philodendron verrucosum
Reproduction: Division
Origin: Ecuador, Peru
Location: Terrestrial or as a hemiepiphyte on rocky banks along streams and in the deep shade of forests in the central and western Andes, at altitudes of 1200-1500 m.
Remarks: This species was offered for many years as Philodendron verrucosum 'Esmeralda'. However, new research has confirmed that it is the real Philodendron pseudoverrucosum.
The young leaves grow with a metallic velvety sheen, which gives the plant a very exclusive appearance. (see picture 4.)
